The God I Never Knew

The Holy Spirit

In order to grow as a believer, it is important to understand the role of the Holy Spirit.

To be effective in walking a Christ-Centered Life, we must adjust our lives to what the Holy Spirit wants to do in, for, and through us.

IN a believer, the role of the Holy Spirit is to transform us to be Christ-like. This is what I refer to as living a Christ-Centered life!

I Corinthians 2:9-10 NLT No eye has seen, nor ear has heard, and no mind has imagined what God has prepared for those who love him. But it was to us that God revealed these things by his Spirit. For his Spirit searches out everything and shows us God’s deep secrets.

FOR a believer, the role of the Holy Spirit is to help and guide us.

John 14:26 NKJV But the Helper, the Holy Spirit, whom my father will send in My name, He will teach you all things, and bring to your remembrance all things that I said to you.

THROUGH a believer, the role of the Holy Spirit is to reveal God’s revelations through us!

Act 1:8 NKJV But you shall receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you; and you shall be witnesses to Me in Jerusalem [family, home], and in all Judea [our community] and Samaria [across cultures], and to the end of the earth [missions].

All of this is done through us, when we possess and tap into the power of the Holy Spirit.

As believers, we need to take the time to really dig into the role of the Holy Spirit in our lives. The more our knowledge grows, the greater the power of the Holy Spirit expands within us. Anyone who chooses not to explore the role of the Holy Spirit might be rejecting the Holy Spirit altogether!

Colossians 3:10 NKJV …Put on the new man who is renewed in knowledge according to the image of Him who created him,

Hosea 4:6 NKJV My people are destroyed for lack of knowledge. Because you have rejected knowledge,

We are best equipped to serve our families, our community, and our mission fields when we embrace the role of the Holy Spirit in our lives!

Christ-Centered for Life,

Pastor Paul

Before I became a Christian I earnestly sought out God the Father. Did He exist…did my existence make any sense or have any purpose without Him? Eventually I said yes..God the Father exists. My life didn’t change much and my Christian walk did not start with this decision. During a very hard time in my life I encountered Jesus (God the Son) and He showed me the extent of God’s love for me. This changed me forever and I joyfully became a child of God. I eagerly followed The Word, but as I examined my life I could still see something was missing. Then Jesus himself explained it to me (and the disciples). It would be better for me (and them) if he went back to His heavenly home because He would send the Holy Spirit (the Counselor/Helper) who would be with me every minute of every day. It was once I plugged into this third person of the Holy Trinity that my life really began to change. No longer was God just my Father in Heaven, nor my Savior (but thank you God so much for that moment of Salvation!!). He was my Helper. He let’s me know when I am on the right track and when I am off track. He leaves it to me to decide how to respond…He simply gives me a gentle nudge and reminds me to follow my Savior to please my Heavenly Father. What a Great God we have….who Loves us so and gives himself to us everyday. My Christian walk has taught me that He is not distant….He is inside me. He is Father/Creator…..Son/Savior….and Holy Spirit/Sustainer. I joyfully praise the Lord.
