Pastor Paul and Maria Foslien

Paul Foslien is the founding pastor of Living Word Family Church in Naples, Florida which started in 1998 with only seventeen people attending the first service. Since then, the church has continued to grow and is known in the community for creatively impacting the people of Southwest Florida through “I Love My Community” outreach events.

Pastor Paul’s life in ministry started as a young man wishing to answer the call God placed on his life by attending RHEMA Bible College in Tulsa, Oklahoma where he studied under great men and women of God. After being equipped with the skills and knowledge needed for ministry, he was ready to live out the vision in his heart— for people all around the world to come to the knowledge of Jesus Christ, find their destiny, and be used in furthering His kingdom.

Maria Foslien’s life in ministry started in 1986 serving at Living Word Christian Center in Minneapolis, Minnesota. Her responsibilities included working in the youth, prayer, and music ministries. There, she studied and grew under the ministry of Pastor Mac and Lynne Hammond, and now oversees the music ministry here at Living Word Family Church.

Prior to their ministry in Florida, Pastor Paul and Maria have been taken to other parts of the world. In 1993 they moved their family to the Russian nation of Belarus where they distributed humanitarian aid and started a church that quickly grew to several hundred people. In 1996, they turned the church over to the Belarussian nationals within the church, who remain pastors of the church to this day, and moved back to the United States. The church in Belarus continues strongly today with regular contact and trips being made between their church and Living Word Family Church.

Pastor Paul has seen and experienced many aspects within his ministry and has acquired a passion to assist other pastors within their own ministries. He currently serves as the Regional Director over the state of Florida for RMAI, “RHEMA Ministerial Association International”. Serving in this capacity has given him the opportunity to help ministers succeed in not only the every day life of being a pastor, but also in the spiritual and emotional aspects of life.

Pastor Paul and Maria have been married since 1989. They are proud parents of three children, and are loving grandparents to four grandchildren.

The history of Living Word Family Church begins with Pastor Paul Foslien, his wife Maria, and their two kids. They had just returned from planting a church in the former Soviet Republic of Belarus when they were called upon to bring the uncompromised Word of God to the city of Naples and all of Southwest Florida.

The first service, with 17 people in attendance, was held on Sunday, November 21, 1998 at the Veteran’s Park Community Center in North Naples. In July 1999, the church was able to move into its own building located in North Naples.

In 2004, the church purchased land along Immokalee Road and began the planning process to build the current facility. In 2008, the Living Word family broke ground on this property, ready to fulfill a much larger vision — a church campus that would allow for years of expansion. The first service was held in this building on Easter Sunday, April 4, 2010, where many came and worshiped together in two services that morning.

Since then, the church family has been able to reach out and help the Naples community and other countries through “I Love My Community” events, Serve Days, and mission trips worldwide. With many calling Living Word Family Church home, the impact of these events has been wide-spread. Collier County Schools, St. Matthew’s House, Helps Outreach Center, and hundreds of families in need have benefitted from the generous outpouring of the Living Word Family Church and its members.
